Geomorphographic map of Lower Saxony (25 m grid data)
Description
The geomorphographic map (GMK25) is based on the digital elevation model in the grid of 12.5 m (DGM5) of Lower Saxony. It was used as an information basis for the soil map of Lower Saxony 1: 50000 (BK50) developed. The derivation was carried out on the corrected grid (DGM25) thinned to 25 m. Simple relief forms are shown in accordance with the 5th edition of the mapping instructions (Ad hoc AG Boden 2005). The depth ranges are shown from a catchment area size of 40 ha. They are subdivided according to catchment area size and a relative “height” (lower areas in the sink area, vertex areas in the sink area). The aim is to identify smaller clots and relative high altitudes in the main sink area. The slopes are divided into four groups of inclination classes (N 0-1 = flat to flat, N 2-3 = slopes with a clear tendency to erosion, but can be used for agriculture, N 4 = no longer usable in agriculture, N 5-6 = steep slopes with a clear tendency to gravitational slope movements). This summary is made with a view to its use for the BK50. Vertebrae areas are flattening at high altitudes. They are separated into two inclination classes (N 0-1 and N 2-3) like the slopes. Grade-like vertices are specially designated, as these are often extremely shallow locations and/or lack the soluble main location.
