Near-surface mineral raw materials in Schleswig-Holstein
Description
Areas for securing and extracting near-surface mineral resources in Schleswig-Holstein. The near-surface mineral raw materials used in Schleswig-Holstein belong to the group of stone and earth raw materials and include various rocks such as clays, limestones and in particular sands/gravels, which are mined in opencast mining. These domestic primary raw materials are the most important intermediate goods for the Schleswig-Holstein construction industry and are therefore also of fundamental importance for the industrial value chain. They mainly serve the production of building materials, are used in housing, civil engineering or road construction or are used as products in agriculture, in the energy transition or in environmental protection.
