Raster AIS Maritime Traffic Caribbean 2019 — Tonnage
Description
Raster data set describing the gross tonnage (sum of total gross tonnage of all vessels within a unit of area for one year, in GRT/km²/year) calculated from the positions of all vessels detected by AIS (Automatic Identification System) in the Caribbean in 2019. It is produced from AIS (NMEA) raw data covering the Caribbean acquired from Exact Earth for the whole of 2019, as part of the TRAFIC project, supported by the Fondation de France, and carried out within the OHM Littoral-Caraïbe. The data was processed by Damien Le Guyader (https://www.geo4seas.com/).
