Set of seasonal average images of k490 (Water Transparency) (Diffuse attenuation coefficient of light in water for the wavelength of 490 nm) captured by the MODIS (Moderate-Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) sensor on board the AQUA satellite, for the year 2009. Spatial resolution of 1100 m. In ETRS89 UTM spindle 30. In order to obtain annual images of k490 (Transparency of water) (m-1) on the Andalusian coast. The diffuse attenuation coefficient in the water indicates how the light inside the water column is attenuated, which helps to characterize the transparency of the water and therefore estimate the state of turbidity of the waters of the Andalusian coast. In addition, this parameter has many applications in ocean optics, such as its relationship with the concentration of phytoplankton and dissolved organic and inorganic sediments in seawater.
