Description
The topic shows the situation and further information of natural gas and geothermal drilling in Lower Saxony where Frac measures were carried out.
Hydraulic fracturing (fracking) is a technique used to treat rocks to create artificial flow paths. Cracks are generated in the rocks by pressing in a fractic liquid. The rock is broken up (i.e.: to fracture = break up) and the narrow cracks up to several hundred meters long are filled with support bodies made of special sands so that they do not close again. In the application of Frac technology in natural gas production, the production rate of a natural gas well is to be increased.
