Description

Daily averages of HSL’s stops and stations in November 2016. The number of climbers per stop is the average of November’s weekdays (Mon-Fri). The number of bus passengers at the stop is based on travel card stamps, which will be increased to cover e.g. those travelling with strollers or with a single ticket. The missing stamps due to various malfunctions of the LIJ system are assessed using statistical methods. The number of lifters on the bus lines, trams and trains is based on Dilax’s automatic computing equipment. 30 % of trains, 25 % of trams and 100 % of HSL’s purchased trains are equipped with computing equipment. However, due to equipment malfunctioning, the measurement percentages are lower than these. The missing measurements are assessed using statistical methods. The number of risers of the metro is obtained from automatic counters on the lanes leading to the quay (e.g. escalators). The passenger counting of ferry traffic is regulated by the Maritime Transport Act, which requires the number of risers to be calculated manually. For this reason, the number of ferry operators is the most accurate of the modes of transport.
