COVID-19 emergency - Volunteers and associations

The dataset shows the activities and the numerical consistency of the presence of volunteers in the associations in the initial phase of the emergency.

The civil protection volunteering of Umbria has been mobilized in order to address the extraordinary and urgent needs arising from the spread of COVID-19. Since the early days the [volunteering associations] (http://dati.umbria.it/dataset/organizations-volunteering-pc) have worked in guaranteeing assistance to the population, giving support to the Mayors of the Municipalities and to the health personnel, with the first assistance activities at the San Francesco airport of Assisi in Perugia.

Subsequently, they became available for pre-triage activities at the emergency rooms of 11 regional hospitals and for the restoration of containers set up to support hospital principals.

Together with doctors, nurses and health personnel, there are an increasing number of frontline civil protection volunteers who every day give support to municipal administrations for setting up tents, assistance to "fragile" people known to social and municipal services, to subjects in quarantine but not positive from Covid-19 and support to cases confirmed by CoVID-19 in home isolation.
