Description
Within the framework of the Baden-Württemberg Energy Atlas, the “Technical Wind Energy Potential” was determined for Baden-Württemberg.
In order to calculate the wind potential, a catalogue of criteria was first used to determine the areas within Baden-Württemberg, which are in principle eligible for wind energy production. The intersection of the suitable surfaces with the windy surfaces resulted in the potential areas divided into four suitability classes, for which the wind energy potential was calculated in a further step after deduction of the necessary spacing areas around existing wind turbines.
