FQMS - Fuel Quality Monitoring System 2012
Description
According to the Fuel Quality Directive, compliance with environmental quality standards for fuels is reviewed and reported annually as part of the Fuel Quality Monitoring System. Since 2003, the Federal Environment Agency has been carrying out these quality controls in Austria. In 2012, around 7.8 million tonnes of fuel were sold in Austria, of which around 6.1 million tonnes were diesel fuels. In order to check the quality of the fuels, a total of 206 samples were taken at 206 filling stations throughout Germany. Diesel fuel has been tested for compliance with ON EN 590 and petrol fuel has been tested for compliance with ON EN 228. A total of four deviations from the defined standard parameters were found; one exceedance of the maximum vapour pressure for normal and super gasoline and two exceedances of the permitted biodiesel content for diesel fuels.
