Sector of presence of Castor and Otter — Annual state by municipality — Isère
Description
The Ministerial Order of 2 September 2016 on the control by hunting of populations of certain non-indigenous species and laying down, pursuant to Article R. 427-6 of the Environmental Code, the list, periods and procedures for the destruction of non-indigenous species of animals classified as pest throughout metropolitan territory stipulates in Article 4 that the use of category 2 and 5 traps shall be prohibited in the vicinity of rivers and dead arms, marshes, canals, bodies of water and ponds, up to a distance of 200 m from the shore, except for the egg trap placed in an enclosure with an entrance of 11 cm by 11 cm, in the areas, the list of which is fixed by annual prefectural order, or the presence of the Otter of Europe or the Castor of Eurasia is proven.
For the purposes of the Ministerial Decree of 29 January 2007 laying down provisions relating to the trapping of animals classified as harmful, the following definitions shall apply:
— category 2 trap, traps triggered by pressure on a pallet or taking a bait, any other triggering system, intended to cause the animal to die.
— category 5 trap, traps not belonging to the preceding categories and intended to result in the death of the animal by drowning.
In order to protect the species Castor (Castor fiber) and otter (Lutra lutra) at the same sites as the ragondin and muskrat classified as harmful. The map lists the municipalities where trapping precautions should be taken. The sectors are based on data from OFB, LPO, LOPARVI, FNE, National Park of Ecrins sent annually to DDT 38.
