LGRB-BW Relief Parameters: Height over depth line
Description
Relative altitude over low line (= local erosion base). The depth line grid cells receive the value zero in the relief parameter considered, and all other grid cells receive a positive value, depending on their vertical reading to the depth line. The vertical reading to the depth line is calculated in an iterative method, excluding small differences in height. This results in a balanced picture of the relative altitude (height over erosion base). The “height over depth line” is of much greater importance for analysing the relief from a geoscientific point of view than the absolute altitude. The result depends significantly on the depth line network used.
