The Digital Nature Maps 2021 including the Biodiversity Map

The Digital Nature Maps are a planning tool developed for the Danish Environmental Protection Agency, the Ministry of the Environment, so that municipalities have the best basis on which to work when designating nature areas for the Green Denmark Map in municipal plans: https://miljoegis.mim.dk/spatialmap?profile=miljoegis-plangroendk Once selected, a Green Denmark map will show where Denmark's existing nature is, but also where it would make sense to create larger natural areas such as forest, moorland and pastures or meadows, so that we can create a better and more cohesive nature. A Green Denmark map will be continuously developed and expanded as municipalities revise their town plans every four years. The map portal contains the biodiversity map, which is a Danish map of mapped and potential habitats for the most endangered and rare species (the so-called red-listed species). The biodiversity map shows the most important natural areas where nature conservation efforts can be targeted effectively to safeguard the red-listed species and safeguard our most valuable nature. In addition, a comprehensive map of all the mapped habitats and potential habitats of red-listed species is displayed. The map portal also shows previous planning from counties and municipalities for nature interests.
