List of Compensation Areas (District of Göttingen)
Description
The legal basis is the intervention regulation according to § 14 et seq. of the Federal Nature Conservation Act and § 5 et seq. of the Lower Saxony Implementation Act to the Federal Nature Conservation Act.
Causers of so-called interventions in nature and landscape (significant impairments of the natural balance or landscape) are obliged to compensate for these impairments by means of compensatory or replacement measures. These measures are specified in the respective permits (e.g. planning permits, planning approvals, land use and development plans, building permits, ...).
The compensation area register records and describes the established compensatory and replacement measures of nature conservation and landscape maintenance for documentation and control purposes and to avoid double occupancy.
