Radon short-term measurement Saarland
Description
Radon activity within residential buildings, schools, day care centres and commercial buildings carried out within the framework of various radon measurement campaigns. The measurement time is up to a few months. The measurements were carried out with so-called core track dosimeters, which can measure radon concentration over a defined time without current and without greater own effort. The uncertainty of the result with this measurement method is about 15 % of the measured value. The results are summarised in four categories of radon activity defined in accordance with WHO’s current recommendations and the legal provisions of the Radiation Protection Act. Radon activity categories are defined as follows: Cat.1 (0-99 Bq/m³); Kat. 2 (100-299 Bq/m³); Kat. 3 (300-1 000 Bq/m³); Kat. 4 (> 1 000 Bq/m³).
