Description
The WMS “GeoPortal Wuppertal Public Data” is an OGC-compliant representation service for spatial data that affects the city of Wuppertal, operated by the City of Wuppertal. The service is not thematically defined. The range of information includes in particular data from the fields of environment, planning, transport, leisure and infrastructure, as well as spatial data (background maps) and area breakdowns. For many card layers, the service also supports spot factual data queries, from whose result display can often be accessed to further documents or web applications. The main purpose of the service is the provision of data for the Wuppertal Environmental and Geodata Portal (GeoPortal Wuppertal, URL: http://geoportal.wuppertal.de). In addition, it allows any other organisation or end user to access public Wuppertal geodata with OGC-compliant applications. The data underlying the map layers are mainly from the city of Wuppertal, partly but also from other organisations. In some cases, map layers cascade to other organisations’ WMS services. The map layers and the associated geodata are therefore subject to individual terms of use. Some of the geodata provided is available under Open Data licenses.
