Recording of FFH-Moose Mannia triandra and Scapania carinthiaca in the Gesäuse National Park
Description
Mannia triandra was found in seven locations. The growth varieties of this species were located in the sunny edge of Schutthalden, which run periodically water. Scapania carinthiaca was found at three sites on deadwood on shady creek edges. The classifications on conservation level set out in the Commission Implementing Decision have been made for both species of conservation grade A. Due to the vital stocks of both target species, the Gesäuse National Park has a high responsibility for their survival in Austria and Europe.
Mannia Triandra was found at seven sites. The growth sites of these species were located in the sunny margins of scree slopes that periodically carry water. Scapania Carinthiaca was found at three sites — each on deadwood at shady stream edges. Both species have been classified as “conservation level A” following the Commission’s implementation decision. Due to the vital populations of both species, the Gesäuse National Park has a high responsibility for their survival in Austria and Europe.
