Andalusian Forest Ecosystem Damage Monitoring Network (RED SEDA and Red Pinsapo)
Description
System for monitoring the phytosanitary status of Andalusian forest vegetation, used by the Ministry responsible for the environment from 2000, through annual systematic sampling according to a square mesh of 8 km side. Methodology developed by the European Network for Monitoring Damage in Forests Level I EC Network, implemented in Spain through a National Network since the late 1980s, and based on the assessment of defoliation and discoloration as indicators of the vegetative state of the trees.It includes a specific network on pinsapo masses of size 1x1km, from subdivision of the previous one, and established in 2001 to collect information on this emblematic Andalusian species.
