Krankheiten und Mortalität: Bösartige Cancer

Description

Estimates of the incidence of malignant tumors diagnosed in the population residing in the Province of Bolzano refer to the five-year period 2006-2010. The average number of new cases per year diagnosed over the period was 1,589 among males (650.9 per 100,000) and 1,287 among females (514.4 per 100,000). Excluding skin cancers (ICD X: C44), the new cases expected for 2015 are 1,880 for males and 1,456 for females. Excluding skin (ICD X C44), the most frequent cancers among males are prostate (21.5% of cases), colorectal (11.3%), lung (10.2%), bladder (9.0%) and stomach (4.5%). In females, breast cancer (25.6% of cases) ranks first among all cancers, followed by colorectal cancer (11.7%), lung cancer (5.9%), melanomas (5.0%) and body cancer of the uterus (4.9%). In the period 2008-2012, an average of 644 males (258.8 deaths per 100,000 residents) and 548 females (214.1 deaths per 100,000) died each year from cancer. For 2015, it is therefore possible to estimate a total of 1 347 cancer deaths for the Province of Bolzano, of which 743 are male and 604 female. Among males, the most frequent causes of death from cancer are lung cancer (21.9% of cases), colorectal cancer (10.6%), prostate cancer (8.8%), liver cancer (7.5%) and stomach cancer (7.2%). In females, deaths from breast cancer (12.1%) accounted for the largest share, followed by deaths from colorectal cancer (10.6%), lung cancer (10.1%) and pancreatic cancer (6.7%).
