Old Quarters of the City of Turku
Description
The town plan of the City of Turku, drawn up by Engel in 1828, was given Swedish-language names to the city centre blocks, representing subjects related to the animal and plant kingdom and mythology. There was no time for local groupings to be carried out in the block names. The Finnish translations of the names of the blocks have been published in Turku Title 2. in 2001. The material covers the town plan area of the City of Turku, compiled by Engel in 1828.
