Class mark of the soil estimation of Lower Saxony 1: 5000 (WFS service)

Description

The data collection of the soil estimate is based on the Law on the Estimation of the Cultivated Land of 16 October 1934. The aim of the legislation was to establish a fair tax base for agricultural holdings at the same time as a general land survey for the tasks of all other land use plans. In the practice of soil estimation, a grid of 50 by 50 metres is used to take drill-stock samples up to 1 meter depth. The LBEG offers a representation of the class characters of the soil estimation as a map plot in the scale 1:5.000 (BS5). The map plots are to be obtained via the LBEG’s website.
