Description
For the forest sector, forest biotope mapping covers the specially protected biotopes pursuant to Section 24a of the NatSchG, the biotope protection forest pursuant to Section 30a of the LwaldG and other biotopes that are valuable in terms of nature conservation (e.g. occurrence of threatened species, structural wealth). The requirements of the VwV Biotope Protection Act and Forest Biotope Mapping as well as the Kartierhandbuch Waldbiotopkartierung apply. The project is managed by the Forest Ecology Department of the Forest Research Institute (FVA).
