REDIAM. WMS HIC 92B0-2 Birch formations of the high Andalusian mountain (+)
Description
WMS service corresponding to the Habitat of Community Interest proposed as a priority for Andalusia 92B0-2, birch edaphohygrophilous formations (Betula pendula subsp. fontqueri var fontqueri) typical of Sierra Nevada and Sierras de Segura and Las Villas. They are considered relict formations, typical of colder and rainier past times, which persist in a few favorable environments in the region. In Sierra Nevada they are presented as more or less open formations, with birches and willows (Salix caprea, Salix x quercifolia), which occupy unstable hydromorphic soils furrowed by torrents, on slopes and ravines. In the Sierras de Segura and the Villas behaving as riparian formations on the banks of rivers and streams. Node of the Andalusian Environmental Information Network. Regional Government of Andalusia.
