Description
Length data provides biological information and attributes of the catches of each sampled vessel that covers: organization/project; ID trip; surveyor; sampling; site sampling time; commodity; WPP; vessel name/owner; fishing gear; catcher; collector; fishing areas; total catch in volume (Kg); total catch in units (Ind); total sampling in volume (Kg); total sampling in units (Ind); sample name; total (Kg); units (Ind); length type; common name; species name; length (Cm).
The Length data is used best to assess the state of the fish stocks for fish species sampled using several modelling approaches such as the LBSPR (Length Based – Spawning Potential Ratio) that is, a relative rate of production in fish stock that have been exploited based on fish length. Other than that, this data also can provide 1) growth estimation parameter 2) Mortality 3) Fishing gear selectivity 4) recruitment pattern and 5) estimated fish mortality due to natural factors.
