* **Description:** Due to the many acts of war during the Second World War, unexploded explosive remnants of war may have remained in the soil of the municipality of The Hague. The municipality of The Hague has commissioned an investigation into where CE could have been left behind. A historical study has been carried out for this purpose. Within such an investigation, archives are being searched for events in the war that may have led to the retention of explosive remnants of war. On the basis of the research results and the applicable guidelines, risk areas have been identified. The events (acts of war) and risk areas are shown on the map. The research report describes the events and explains the way in which the risk areas have been determined. The data are particularly important when carrying out earth-moving work, such as digging in the ground, performing piling work, installing sheet piling, probing, etc. Such work can lead to uncontrolled explosions in the event of contact with the explosive or vibration. In order to minimise this risk, additional research is needed in most cases within risk areas. The first step is to carry out a risk analysis.
