Description
The data were taken from a study promoted by the Province of Turin as part of the "Research program on the maintenance and restoration of riverbeds, as well as on hydrogeological protection and soil protection".The dataset represents some critical elements associated with the full occurred along the shaft of the Sangone stream following the flood event of 13-16/10/2000 and reported in the "Hydrological-hydraulic study and preliminary definition of interventions". Flood October 2000: T. SANGONE in the section between the crossing of the SS 23 and the confluence in Po" (November 2000 - March 2001) and constitutes a summary update of the previous study done on the Sangone basin, as part of the "Research Program".The scope of the study is represented by the highly urbanized context located along the Sangone, heavily affected by the flooding of the watercourse during the flood event of October 2000, which produced considerable damage in the territories of the Municipalities of Moncalieri, Nichelino and Turin, highlighting the urgency of the problem of the hydraulic safety of these areas.The document describes the activities carried out (reconnaissance and inspections, hydrological analysis, hydraulic checks) and the results obtained in the context of the study, from whose analysis derives the definition, at the preliminary design level, of the interventions necessary for the safety of housing.
