Description
The Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) is the strategic document that aims to guide urban mobility policies for the next 10 years.The ‘Green Shield’ is a measure aimed at the so-called ‘reinternalisation of the external costs of transport’ (i.e. externalities). Externalities are costs related to the structuring and operation of the transport system which are not borne in full by those who produce them and, therefore, are borne by other parties and, more generally, by the community. The Florence Green Shield covers the area enclosed in the perimeter covered by this dataset.The drafting of the SUMP is based on a logic based on scenarios, aimed at verifying and comparing the effects of different possible strategies for the governance of mobility: the Reference Scenario (i.e. the interventions that can be carried out independently of the SUMP as they are already planned-programmed and already provided with financial coverage), the Plan Scenario (i.e. the infrastructural and non-infrastructural interventions, additional to the Reference Scenario that meet the general and specific objectives that the SUMP has set itself), the Evolutionary Scenario. The geographical data of the SUMP to be published refer to the three scenarios of the plan contained in the approved tables.The Metropolitan Council of Florence initiated the procedure for drawing up the metropolitan SUMP and verifying the SEA with Resolution No 121 of 19 December 2018 and with Resolution No 24 of the Metropolitan Council of 21 April 2021 definitively approved the Pums-Urban Sustainable Mobility Plan of the Metrocity.
