FVA Gaps and Stock Height Type
Description
The dataset is used to identify forest gaps in high and low stands. The aim was to map potential biodiversity-relevant gaps (from 10 m2) with a rough delineation of stock height types. The tool first identifies three different stock height types: High forests (high_forest), low forests (low_forest) and open forests (open_forest). Gaps are identified within the high and low stocks (gap_high and gap_low).
The FVA gaps and stock height types are calculated from aerial photographs of flights of the last 3 years and updated annually.
