FVA gaps and stock height type
Description
The data set is used to identify forest gaps in high and low stocks. The aim was to map potentially biodiversity-relevant gaps (from 10 m²) with a rough definition of stock height types. The tool first identifies three different stock height types: High stocks (high_forest), low stocks (low_forest) and light forest (open_forest). Gaps are identified within the high and low stocks (gap_high and gap_low).
The FVA gaps and stock height types are calculated from aerial images of flotations over the last 3 years and updated annually.
