Central Landfill Information Management System

Description

The database is available on the Agency’s website and via the WMS/WFS GIS web service. Access is limited to competent authorities and monitoring institutions for landfilling and landfilling. The base contains: general information (e.g. name of landfill, county, landfill category, operator information, etc.); information on the equipment of the landfill (e.g. whether the landfill has a drainage system, degassing, sorting, etc.); data on disposed quantities of waste (e.g. disposed in a calendar year, total disposed of, capacity, etc.); information on the remediation and documentation of the landfill (e.g. disposal permit, remediation status, costs of remediation, etc.). The database is continuously collected in the Croatian Agency for Environment and Nature and the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund from landfill operators and competent authorities at local and national level. Legal basis: For monitoring the achievement of the targets laid down in Council Directive 1999/31/EC of 26 April 1999 on the disposal of waste and the Act on Sustainable Waste Management (OG 94/13) Targeted beneficiaries: Croatian Agency for Environment and Nature, Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund, Ministry of Environmental Protection and Energy, inspection services and other competent authorities and institutions.
