Description
WMS service corresponding to the SENTINEL 3 annual mean satellite imagery set of K490 (Diffuse attenuation coefficient of light in water for the wavelength of 490 nm) for the year 2021. Spatial resolution 1 000 m. Area Atlantic Ocean and Alboran Sea. In ETRS89 UTM spindle 30, with the purpose of obtaining an annual image of the behavior of K490 (m-1) on the Andalusian coast. With these images, we can observe the increase or decrease of this parameter, which indicates how light is attenuated inside the water column, helping to characterise the transparency of the water and therefore estimate the state of turbidity of the waters of the marine environment. In addition, this parameter has many applications in ocean optics, such as its relationship with the concentration of phytoplankton and organic and inorganic sediments dissolved in marine water.
