Wetland inventory VMI: Vectorisation of newly digitised objects
Description
The Wetland Inventory (VMI) was conducted 1981-2005. All inventored wetlands have been aerial image interpreters and this is documented on interpretation sketches. The exception is Norrbotten County, which performed the aerial interpretation digitally from the beginning. Work on geocorrecting the interpretation sketches and making them digitally available (in raster format) has been ongoing since 2019 and is expected to be completed in 2022. The results are available through the Environmental Data Portal.
The geo-corrected interpretation sketches (rasters) have now started to be converted into vector GIS layers, both for the delimitation of objects and sub-objects as well as internal objects fixedland islands and water. In addition, more attribute data has been included compared to the vector layer 2010. It is still unclear when the work for all counties will be completed.
