Individual data set from zoonose monitoring (ZooM) – reporting year 2021

Description

The aim of the zoonoses monitoring is to gain knowledge about the contamination of food and animal populations with zoonotic agents and to identify trends in zoonoses and zoonotic agents. The basis for the monitoring of zoonoses is the General Administrative Regulation on the collection, evaluation and publication of data on the occurrence of zoonoses and zoonotic agents along the food chain (AVV Zoonosen Food Chain), which regulates the procedure for coordinating and carrying out studies on zoonoses monitoring and subsequent reporting. The AVV Zoonosen food chain is based on Directive 2003/99/EC on the monitoring of zoonoses and zoonotic agents, which obliges EU Member States to collect, evaluate and publish representative and comparable data on the occurrence of zoonoses and zoonotic agents and antibiotic resistance in food, feed and live animals. The BVL collects, evaluates and publishes the data together with the results of the pathogen typing, resistance testing and BfR’s assessment of the results in the annual zoonoses monitoring reports. These data are also part of the annual data transmitted to EFSA.
