LGRB-BW GTO: Ancient mining
Description
Due to its diverse mineral resources, Baden-Württemberg has been intensively mining since the Neolithic period, which expanded greatly to silver-containing ores, especially in the Middle Ages. Numerous old mining tracks, pings, heaps, tunnels and hydraulic structures date back to this montane Middle Ages and can be visited in the landscape or, prepared in visitor mines, in the mountain itself. There are currently 18 visitor mines in Baden-Württemberg, 15 educational trails on mining history topics and 7 predominantly mining history museums.
