Open Diagnosis Treatment Combination trajectories in Mental Health Main Diagnosis (from 01-01-2020)

Description

This file is part of a set of files that relate to treatments within the Mental Health Care, as they are registered in the DBC system. This concerns the specialized GGZ. DBC stands for Diagnosis Treatment Combination. A DBC care product is a package of care with information about the diagnosis and treatment a patient receives. These are mainly healthcare products that are described in the basic package of health insurance. The care takes place in mental health institutions and established practices. The files are based on the data provided by the institutions to the DBC Information System (DIS), managed by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa). There are 3 different files: a file with DBC trajectories and care trajectories (GGZDBC trajectoriesHOOFDDIAGYYYYYTABVV), a file with the delivered care profile (GGZDBCGeleverdZorgprofielHOOFDDIAGYYYYTABVV) for a DBC trajectory, a file with the secondary diagnoses for a DBC trajectory (GGZDBCDIAGNOSENHOOFDDIAGYYYYYTABVV). These are files with diagnoses on main groups (available from 2015), For files with diagnoses at detail level (available up to and including 2016) see the files GGZDBCtrajectenYYYYTABVV, GGZDBCGeleverdZorgprofielYYYYTABVV and GGZDBCDIAGNOSENHOOFDDIAGYYYYTABVV. Because the DIS no longer collects the detailed diagnoses, it is not possible to supplement these files. The 2015 and 2016 files at the main diagnosis level are more recent than those at the detail level and therefore more complete. When a patient with a care request comes to a practice or institution, a care process is opened in the DBC registration for this care request. A care pathway contains data about the most important diagnosis. A care trajectory involves one or more DBC trajectories. A DBC process (also known as DBC for short) is a part of a care process that is delimited for declaration purposes and contains data such as duration, type of care, typical diagnosis and declaration data. The basis of this dataset is the trajectory file: the provided care profile file and diagnosis file contain the care trajectories and diagnoses that belong to trajectories with a start date in the reference year. The maximum duration of a DBC is 365 days. The care activities that have been carried out in a process are listed in the delivered care profile file. Together with the associated care activities, the DBC process forms the basis for the declaration of a DBC care product.Detailed information on the DBC system can be found on the website of NZa:https://dbcregels.nza.nl. More information on how to access the data: > https://www.cbs.nl/en-en/our-services/custom-and-microdata/microdata-self-research ### Methodology The files only show the records of patients who could be linked to the Personal Records Database (BRP) by Statistics Netherlands. This represents 98.3% of the DBC trajectories recorded in CIS over2015, 2016 and 2017. This link is carried out on the basis of pseudonyms based on Citizen Service Number (BSN) or the combination of date of birth, gender and postal code. As a Person ID, the variable RINPERSON has been added to the files, a meaningless and dimensionless number, which can be used for linking to other CBS SSB files. In the trajectory file, an increase weight is given with which the (linked to the BRP) trajectories can be increased to all trajectories as declared to the health insurers. If desired, the care activities associated with the trajectories in the delivered care profile file can also be increased with the weight of the relevant trajectory. ### Population All persons for whom at least one DBC GGZ has been opened in the reference year and who have been in the BRP at any time in the year. PLEASE NOTE: This file is less suitable for determining whether or not an individual has used mental health care. This is because the Basic Mental Health Care is not included in this dataset, but also because this dataset is not completely complete. Incompleteness has increased rapidly since 2017.
