Description

This microdata file is compiled on the basis of the Small Business Finance Statistics (SFKO), based on the corporate income tax declaration data of the tax authorities, and the data of the Large Business Finance Statistics (SFGO) which is based on a direct survey. The criterion of whether an enterprise is large or small is determined by the balance sheet total. Small enterprises are those with a balance sheet total of less than EUR 40 million, i.e. EUR 23 million for the years 2001 to 2010. For the period 1992-2000 this was 25 million guilders. More information on how to access the data: > https://www.cbs.nl/en-en/our-services/custom-and-microdata/microdata-self-research ### Methodology Each record contains balance sheet and profit and loss account data of the enterprise group, if source SFGO, and therefore contains all information about the respective enterprise. If the source is SFKO, multiple records can occur per enterprise group. The non-response for the SFKO records shall be imputed with T-1 data, if possible. For the remaining non-response, an incremental factor shall be determined per stratum (SBI aggregation). The non-response for the SFGO records shall be imputed with T-1/T-2/Stratum mean data. Determining a top-up factor is therefore not applicable for SFGO records. That is why in this file all SFGO records are given the ‘1’ increment. The top-up factors are not applied when looking only at data from the individual companies. In order to obtain the overall picture of the population, the top-up factors of the enterprises are only applied to all enterprises at the same time. ### Population The population consists of non-financial tax declarants, composed of the corporate tax return data file of the tax administration and the non-financial business groups of the SFGO.
