Description
The aim of the Self-Employed Labour Survey (ZEA) is to map information in the field of working conditions, employment content, employment relationships and working conditions of the self-employed. The ZEA is carried out by TNO and CBS, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment.

### Methodology
The ZEA has drawn with unequal opportunities and there are differences in response. As a result, the composition of the sample will differ from the composition of the population. The weighing technique that can remedy this is post-stratification. When determining the weighting factors by post-stratification, account shall be taken of the unequal drawing probabilities resulting from the sampling used and the bias resulting from non-response shall be reduced. The weighting shall use register data on gender, age, industry, origin, part of the country, urbanity and disposable household income. In addition, data on training are used from the Labour Force Survey.
### Population
In 2021, the target population of the ZEA consisted of self-employed entrepreneurs aged 15 and over, living in private households in the Netherlands who file a profit declaration with the Tax and Customs Administration.
