Description
The Continuing Vocational Training Survey provides insight into the training activities of companies. The main topics are training policy, participation in, intensity of and expenditure on in-company training.

### Methodology
The investigation is a sampling exercise. For this study, a stratified (26 SBI classes x 10 Size classes) sample was drawn from the study population on the basis of SBI and company size. Companies with 250 or more employees are approached integrally in the study. Companies can complete the questionnaire online.
### Population
The survey was conducted among companies with 10 or more employees in the private sector. The sectors ‘Public administration, public services and compulsory social security’ (SBI 84), ‘Education’ (SBI 85) and ‘Health and welfare’ (SBI 86-88), ‘Households as employers’ (SBI 97-98) and ‘Extra-territorial organisations and bodies’ (SBI 99) were not included, and companies in the ‘Agriculture, forestry and fisheries’ sector (SBI 01-03) were not included in the survey. The sectors mentioned here derive from the 2008 SBI, the classification on which the most recent study is based. For previous studies, these relate to the corresponding sectors in the SBI classification used in the relevant year.
