Income panel survey: income and wealth of households and persons, revision 2021, Part A (from 01-01-1977)
Description
The Income Panel Survey (IPO) provides information on the income of individuals and households. The income is detailed by composition. For example, income is derived from income from labour, income from own enterprise, income from wealth and various types of benefits, while contributions and taxes have been deducted in order to arrive at disposable income. The IPO also provides information on the position of individuals and households on the income ladder (households: power ladder) to take.
This series covers remanufactured data, in which methodology and classifications are as closely as possible linked to current income and wealth production.

### Methodology
The Income Panel Survey (IPO) has been a sample survey based on a panel of persons from the reporting year 1989. Each year, in addition to the sample persons, the persons belonging to his household at the end of the research year are also included in the study, so that information about the household is also available. An annual increase is made for the influx of the population (births and immigration). Income and wealth data are added to the persons in the IPO from various (integral) administrations (mainly from the tax authorities). Some missing data is imputated. A total of 34 files with more than 1600 variables are processed & #039;n.
The years 1977, 1981 and 1985 are based on the National Executive Income Survey (LUI) and are the precursor of the IPO (from 1989 onwards). These do not have a panel design, but are separate samples. For the sake of clarity, for these three reporting years, the name is ‘IPO’; used.
The files include the main publication variables of income and wealth for the period 1977-2014.
Not all people and households are known to have income/capital. If the income or wealth of a household has not been observed, then all fields relating to monetary values (both persons and households) are filled with "9999999999; for income variables (10x9) or & 99999999999 & for power variables (11x9).
