Property type (from 01-01-2020)
Description
This is an enrichment file of the housing stock on 1 January and contains more detailed information about the housing type of single-family homes. It is then about the characterisation as a detached house, semi-detached house, corner house and semi-detached house. For multi-family homes, it is not further disaggregated.
Team Vastgoed en Woningmarkt determines this housing typing once a year for use in the SSB. For 2020 twice, due to the harmonisation with the Land Registry that took place only later. It is recommended to use the final version.
In the characterisation of dwellings, these are always residential objects located in buildings that contain one or more residence objects.
If you want to use the housing type for previous years, you can find it in another component, namely Energy consumption private homes. The name of the variable in that component is housed. However, please note that the derivation of this housing type is based on a different type of research and may therefore deviate from the housing type from this component. ### Methodology
The derivation of the single-family housing types is a model approach in which the number of continuous BAG buildings and the number of BAG residence objects with their use function determines the assignment of the dwelling. Only properties with at least one residence object are selected. This prevents abrasions, garages or other buildings without a residence object from forming a connection between otherwise unobstructed buildings. For example, it is not intended that a detached house with an attached garage should be classified as a semi-detached house.
For each building it is determined whether it is free (not adjacent to neighboring buildings), has only one neighboring building or more than one neighboring building. And if a building has one neighboring building, it is also determined on how many contiguous buildings the row consists of; two buildings or more than two buildings. This is necessary in order to be able to distinguish between a semi-detached and a corner house.
Diversion of different types of housing:
Detached houses are houses that are not connected to other properties.
—Two-under-one-detached houses are two houses (buildings) that share one side with each other.
— Corner houses are houses in a row of three or more contiguous buildings located on the corner and thus share one side with one other building.
— Intermediate dwellings are located in a row with three or more contiguous properties connected on two or more sides to the other buildings in the row.
These four types of housing concern buildings in which one dwelling object is located separately.
— Multi-family dwellings (Apartments) are residential objects with a residential function located in buildings with two or more residence objects.
### Population
The housing stock (residence objects with stock type=1 and INVOORRAAD=1) at the time of 1 January in the BAG. This is unique on RINOBJECTNUMMER. The Population and Definitions of the BAG are leading for this component. The population falls within the population of residential objects (residentials) according to the BAG, as represented by the component LEVCYCLWOONNIETWOONBUSYYYYMMVV. The file contains the combined key SOORTOBJECTNUMMER and RINOBJECTNUMMER and the variable VBOWoning type. This variable indicates whether a house has the characterisation of detached house, semi-detached house, corner house, intermediate house or multi-family house.
