Description
This dataset contains data on employees of companies with Research and Development (R&D) activities divided by gender, profession, knowledge area and province. In addition, the dataset contains data on income and expenditure for Research and Development (R&D) at companies with these activities.

### Methodology
Direct observation of the units from 10 persons employed, additional estimate for units up to 10 persons employed on the basis of the Research and Development Promotion Act (Wet Bevordering Speur- en Ontwikkelingswerk - WBSO) data.
Imputation of missing declarations based on data for the same business unit from the previous year and if these data are missing based on the stratum average (SBI 2 digit and GK).
Increase in population.

Business units in the SBI 2008 sections A to U, excluding tertiary education and University Medical Centers (SBI 8541, 8542 and 86101).
