Description

On behalf of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment, CBS produces an annual working conditions monitor from 1996 onwards. The questions for this monitor are included in two CBS studies: the Occupational Population Survey (EBB) and the Permanent Examination of Living Situation (POLS). The questions about working conditions are part of the Health Survey (GE) module within POLS. This document provides a report on the 1999 fieldwork. For the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment (SZW), CBS provides a file with the working conditions variables. In order to work with these variables, an additional weighting has been added to the file (aromgew). Respondents who answered the questions about working conditions in the last quarter of 1999 are counted three times in this weighting. Respondents who did not have questions about working conditions are excluded. This weighting should be used when working with the following variables: Force Turning, Noise Vehicle, Vibration, Display For variable time pressure, the usual EBB weighting can be used (weighting). The demand for work under high time pressure is put to everyone. The sample addresses are set out in monthly portions. The number of addresses approached (the net sample) is usually less than the number of addresses deployed (the gross sample). A number of addresses are not a house (factory, shop, vacant, demolition building etc.) or untraceable. Furthermore, an interviewer who has not been able to access some addresses due to circumstances (sickness, etc.) can return these addresses unprocessed. These addresses will be switched off again for a subsequent fieldwork period.
