Date of death of persons registered in the Municipal Basic Administration (GBA) (from 01-01-2018)

Description

Contains the date of death of all persons who have died since 1 October 1994 and were registered in the Basic Register of Persons (BRP) at the date of death. Contains the date of death of persons who are not residents but were once resident in the Netherlands since 1 October 1994 and whose information about the death has been received in the Register of Non-residents (RNI). Contains occasional information on persons who are not residents but were once resident before 1 October 1994 and whose death information was received in the Register of Non-Retired Persons (RNI). The Basic Registration of Persons (BRP) contains information about both residents and non-residents of the Netherlands. The information regarding the date of death may vary by version. In a later version, new known information may have been added that replaces previous information. The file can basically be used to make counts. The results may differ slightly from the numbers published by Team Demography on StatLine because: — all changes relating to past messages, which have become known in a later year, are also taken into account in older years; — messages fulfilled within demographic statistics are not always counted in the year of event but in the year of receipt. Within this bus it is not possible to distinguish this. Users who do want or need to connect to the numbers published by Team Demography are recommended to use the GBAMASSASTERFTETAB file. ### Population Residents: Persons who have died since 1 October 1994 and who were registered as residents in the BRP at the date of death. Non-residents: Persons who were once resident but were not residents at the date of death. Persons who died and were registered as non-residents in the BRP at the date of death. This population died once-residents who are non-residents is not complete. Never-resident: persons who have a relationship with the Dutch government (e.g. through work) but who were not registered as residents were registered in the municipal population registers at the date of death. The population of never-residents is not complete. The Basic Registration of Persons (BRP) contains information about both residents and non-residents of the Netherlands. Residents are persons who were registered in the population register of a Dutch municipality at the time of death. Not residents are persons who are no longer residents of the Netherlands but who do have a relationship with the Dutch government, including emigrants who receive an AOW pension abroad and die. Such a person has once been a resident, but no longer. A seasonal worker who has never been a resident and dies in an industrial accident is also included in this component.
