Monthly amounts of persons benefiting from social assistance (from 01-01-2017)

Description

This component is the successor to the component ANNEXEDRAGYYYYBUSVV (1999-2016) and represents all persons who have received benefits during a given year under one of the following laws: — the general assistance under the Participation Act (Assistance); — the Income Supply Act for older and partially disabled unemployed workers (IOAW); — the Older and partially disabled former self-employed persons (IOAZ) Act; — decision to provide assistance for self-employed persons (Bbz). Of these persons is indicated by means of a time key for each day in the year what the monthly tax amount is in the month in which the day falls. More information on how to access the data: > https://www.cbs.nl/nl-nl/onze-diensten/maatwerk-en-microdata/microdata-zelf-onderzoek-doen ### Methodology The monthly amounts are derived from the files BITSTANDPERSONYYYJBUSVV and BIJSTANDPERSON YEARTABVV. From the final version of 2018, a refinement has been made to the methodology of the latter component. For more information, see the “Used methodology” of the PERSONAL YEAR BOOK. In order to calculate the monthly amounts, the annual amount from BITSTANDPERSONY YYTABVV shall be distributed proportionally over the months that the person had a benefit according to BITSTANDPERSONYYYJBUSVV. This takes into account the number of days per month that the person had a benefit. Because monthly amounts can vary within one year, the file has a BUS form, so that the applicable monthly amount can be selected at any time. The following situations may occur in this BUS file: — If a subsequent period of a person contains only whole months, the monthly amount is the annual amount divided by the number of whole months. This period is described by 1 record. — If a subsequent period of a person does not contain whole months, the monthly amount is the daily wage (annual amount divided by number of calendar days) times the number of calendar days within a not complete month. This period is described by 1 record if the subsequent period falls within 1 month and by two records (for each month 1) if the period is divided into two subsequent months. — If a subsequent period of a person contains whole months and not whole months, the monthly amount for the not whole months is the daily wage times the number of calendar days in the not complete month. The monthly amount for the period of full months is achieved by dividing the difference between the annual amount and the amount (or amounts) of the not full month (or months) by the number of whole months in the period. The incomplete months in this case always occur at the beginning and/or end of the subsequent period. Therefore, this subsequent period of a person can be divided into 2 or three records in the monthly amounts file. 2 records if only the beginning or end of a subsequent period is a not complete month and 3 records if both the beginning and end of the period is a not complete month. In addition, a person may have several consecutive periods in the reporting year. For each of this subsequent period, the above scenarios apply and for more consecutive periods the annual amount is divided over all these periods. The calculations with whole months do not include how many days these whole months contain. So the monthly amount for periods with whole months is always the same for a person. For the reporting year 2020 and 2021, the persons who received a temporary bridging scheme for self-employed entrepreneurs (Tozo) have not been taken into account. With this, BIJSTANDMNDBEDRAGYYJJBUSVV does not contain these persons either.
