Description

A record in the EWLpubBUS file is an employee’s job. Thus, a person may have multiple records in the file. the file contains a sample of all jobs of employees in the Netherlands. More information on how to access the data: > https://www.cbs.nl/nl-nl/onze-diensten/maatwerk-en-microdata/microdata-zelf-onderzoek-doen ### Methodology The numbers of jobs calculated with the publication of 2000-2005 are at a high level equal to those on Statline. As this is not an officially established publication file, this means that the files at a low level of detail do not necessarily correspond exactly to Statline, the electronic database of CBS (statline.cbs.nl). A good rule to be able to estimate at first whether a variable in the file is of good quality is to look at Statline. If a feature is included in Statline, that is generally of good quality. If a feature is not included, then chances are that this variable is of moderate or poor quality. For longitudinal analyses from 1999 onwards, in many cases the BAAN files available via 'Social-economic overall picture &#039 can be used; & Jobs. For more information on results created with this file, see Annex 1. ### Population The data in the file comes from the Statistics Netherlands Employment and Wages Survey (EWL). The EWL is a large-scale survey, which collects data at both company and employee level. The EWLpubBUS file contains the employee data of the EWL. The target population of the EWL covers all sectors, with the exception of the sectors of staff employed by households (Sbi 95) and international Community bodies (SBI 99). Not all farms in the target population are surveyed. Almost half of all jobs are observed in the EWL. The observed employees in the EWL are not proportionally distributed across all size classes and industries; in particular, large companies and public administration and education are over-represented. The data of the observed workers can be increased by a final weight to representative data for the entire population (using the variable EWLpubEINDGEW1).
