This bus component contains data on the economic activity of the company of the main employment in which employed persons are employed in a given month. More information on how to access the data: > https://www.cbs.nl/nl-nl/onze-diensten/maatwerk-en-microdata/microdata-zelf-onderzoek-doen ### Methodology Of all the persons employed in a given month, the economic activity of the company is derived from the main employment in which those persons are employed. The determination of this is based first of all on the typing of the variable socio-economic category on a monthly basis (SECM). If a person has as a socio-economic category of employee or director-major shareholder (DGA) (SECM='11 ' SECM='12 ') then the last main job as an employee/DGA in the relevant reporting month is taken into account for the determination of the economic activity. If a person has as a socio-economic category of self-employed (SECM='13 '), other self-employed (SECM=&14 ') or co-operating partner (SECM='15 & #039;) then the economic activity of self-employed entrepreneurs, other self-employed or cooperating partners is decisive. For persons with a socio-economic category other than & #039;11 and#039;, '12 & #039;, '13 ', '14 ', & #039;15 'who are also employed, the economic activity of the last main job as an employee/DGA in the relevant reporting month, or the economic activity of the self-employed person, a member of the family or other self-employed persons, if one is active as such. Moreover, for persons active as other self-employed persons, no data on the economic activity are available (unknown) until the reporting year 2007. The economic activity is typed on the basis of the Standard Business Classification 2008 (SBI2008). From reporting year 2007, data will be available at 5-digit level. Data for the period 2001 to 2006 are available for the SBI '93. These are encoded on the basis of the key table SBI'93/SBI2008 and are then typed on 2 digits of the SBI2008. This 2-digit typing for the period 2001 to 2006 is suitable for publication at industry level. ### Population The bus component population consists of all persons employed in the reporting month, whether or not belonging to the population of the Netherlands (variables XKOPPELWERKNSECM=1 or XKOPPELDGASECM=1 or XKOPPELZELFSTSECM=1 or XKOPPELOVACTIVE=1 or XKOPPELMEEWERKENDSECM=1 of the SSB component SECMBUSVV).
