Description

In 2005, CBS launched the study & European Union- Statistics on Income and Living Conditions (EU-SILC) &#039. EU-SILC is carried out on the basis of a European regulation in all EU Member States on behalf of Eurostat. The main purpose of the study is to provide internationally comparable data on income and social exclusion. More information on how to access the data: > https://www.cbs.nl/nl-nl/onze-diensten/maatwerk-en-microdata/microdata-zelf-onderzoek-doen ### Methodology When collecting data, CBS makes as much use as possible of register data, mainly income data from tax sources. Additional data is collected by telephone observation. Due to the common labour market variables, EU-SILC has been integrated into the Labour Force Survey (EMP). Each year, the EU-SILC sample contains around 10 thousand samplers. Some variables, for example in the field of health, are collected only for these samplers. However, most of the data in terms of income, employment and education are also collected for the persons belonging to the sample person’s household. ### Population Population in the Netherlands, with the exception of persons in institutions, institutions and homes (institutional population).
