Description
The database contains data on employees of companies with Research and Development activities divided by gender, profession, knowledge area and province. In addition, the file contains data on income and expenditure on Research and Development (R&D) of companies with these activities.

### Methodology
Direct observation of the units from 10 persons employed.
Units of up to 10 persons employed are estimated on the basis of the Research and Development Promotion Act (Wet Bevordering Speur- en Ontwikkelingswerk - WBSO) data.
Impute missing declarations if data were received from the same business unit in the previous year.
Impute missing data based on the stratum average (SBI 2 digit and GK).
Increase in population.

Business units in the SBI 2008 Section A to U excluding tertiary education and University Medical Centres (SBI 8541, 8542 and 86101).
