Persons with an assigned PCI for AWBZ or WLZ care (from 01-01-2011)

Description

The PGBAWBZ file contains data on personal budgets allocated by healthcare offices to individuals (pgb) with which they can purchase care financed by the AWBZ (General Act on Special Medical Expenses) or, as of 2015, the Long-Term Care Act (Wlz). For the use of this file, permission is required from the data provider. This permission can be obtained by sending an email with the analysis plan or the quotation to the email address: [mail address hidden – contact CBS]. From there we will then contact the data supplier for arranging consent. More information on how to access the data: > https://www.cbs.nl/nl-nl/onze-diensten/maatwerk-en-microdata/microdata-zelf-onderzoek-doen ### Methodology AWBZ and Wlz care can be obtained in kind, or in the form of a pgb with which the client can purchase care himself. For a Pgb for AWBZ or Wlz care, an indication of the CIZ or for an AWBZ-pgb an indication of the Youth Care Agency (young people with a mental or psychiatric condition), which states what type and how much care a person is entitled to. The health office determines the amount of the personal budget on the basis of the indication and paid this to the insured person until 2015. As of 2015, the PGB will be transferred to the Social Insurance Bank (SVB) which manages the budget and makes payments on behalf of the PGB holder. It concerns care for people with somatic, psychogeriatric or psychiatric disorders, and people with physical, intellectual or sensory disabilities. The PGBs can be awarded for the purchase of personal care, nursing, counselling or short-term stays. No medical treatment or therapy should be paid for with a pgb. Permanent residence in an institution cannot be financed by a PGB. For persons with an indication for a care gravity package (AWBZ) or care profile (Wlz), the package is converted into the equivalent to extramural functions when the pgb is awarded. Based on this dataset, it is not known whether this assigned pgb was also fully used for purchasing care and also whether it was used for the function (type of care) for which the indication was given. ### Population The population of this stock consists of all persons who have been granted a personal budget for purchasing AWBZ or Wlz care and who were registered in the municipal basic administration/basic registration persons.
