Description
File containing data from the study on the use of plant protection products in agriculture.
This is a multidimensional file, i.e. not all variables apply to all dimensions (=key variables).
There are four dimensions: & Period ', ' Crop ', & & Application Group ' and 'active substance &. In addition, there is another from 'crop ' derived dimension & #039; cultivation sector &. A crop always occurs in one growing sector.
The description of each target variable indicates the dimensions to which the variable relates. Technically, values can occur in any combination of dimensions. From a substantive point of view, this is not the case with all combinations. An active substance (AScode) can theoretically occur in all application groups, but is much more common in two or three groups and most in one. E.g. resources in the application group & control insects and mites ' are not used in the application group & control weeds '.
It is also important that an active substance theoretically only occurs in the crops for which it is authorised. A use specified by the grower in a crop is usually maintained in the file. There is no extra check on whether or not they are allowed in that crop.
The file is structured as follows:
In the first columns are the five dimensions. Then follow
—the variables describing the total number of holdings and the number of holdings using plant protection products;
—the variables describing the total area and the total area using plant protection products;
—the variables describing the amount of use of plant protection products.
Within these subject groups, the order is that the variables that are least aggregated are first mentioned.
To get from this file to states and tables that form the building blocks for 2 statline publications, a SPSS syntax file is enclosed.

### Methodology
Sample of agricultural holdings from the Agricultural Count, stratified by crop and region (=groups of agricultural areas).
Reporting through paper questionnaires and use of registrations.
The results are only available at the level of the whole of the Netherlands, so not regionally disaggregated.

Agricultural holdings with a minimum size of EUR 3000 Standard Revenue.
