This data design describes the characteristics of the case such as the final decision and the period of settlement and the characteristics of the defendant such as gender and age.

### Population
The file shall contain all canton criminal cases settled by the court of first instance in the year under review. These criminal cases are registered in the reporting year or in an earlier year.
